So last night the first televised awards show of the year kicked off, the People’s Choice Awards. I am not going to spend too much time because this red carpet was a mishmosh of crap with a few hidden gems. The big surprise for me was just how many women showed up wearing full on gowns when the dress code for the People’s Choice Awards is usually much more relaxed casual/cocktail attire. My favorite look of the night was Kate Hudson in her cream Stella McCartney tuxedo jumpsuit followed by Dakota Johnson in Armani Prive Spring 2014 Couture. Surprise favorites were Meghan Trainor in Balmain Fall 2015 RTW and Kat Graham in David Koma. I was disappointed in Priyanka Chopra as her Vera Wang Spring 2016 RTW dress reminded me of a major Carey Mulligan in Prada moment from a few Met Gala’s ago, and Carey wore it better. Everyone else failed to excite. My worst dressed at the event was Keke Palmer who looked like she was auditioning for a role on the next Star Wars film with her rat tail/Jedi braid and Yousef Al Jasmi Spring 2016 Couture top and skirt which looks like something leftover from the 80’s. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come this year.
